Constipation
Is My Baby Constipated?
Signs and symptoms that your baby may be constipated include:
- Show pain when passing a stool
- Have dry, hard stools
- Have blood in stool
It is normal for breastfed babies to have a bowel movement only once a week. Bowel habits will change when your baby starts eating solid foods.
If your baby is experiencing all three signs and symptoms of constipation, contact the Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit at 519-426-6170 or 905-318-6623 or speak with a dietitian for free through Eat Right Ontario at 1-877-510-5102.
