In fact, fall injuries outnumber motor vehicle crash injuries, poisonings , drowning and burns. Therefore, it’s important to note that falls can and do affect anyone. However, the consequences of falls injuries are more serious in older adults. Poor muscle and bone strength, unsafe indoor and outdoor environments, adverse drug interactions causing dangerously low blood pressure, poor vision, and unsafe footwear all play a part in the increased risk of falls.
