Intentional Self-Harm – Statistics in Haldimand-Norfolk

• From 2007-2016, the rate of emergency department visits for intentional self-harm fluctuated in Haldimand-Norfolk (range: 76.3 – 160.5/100,000). The average rate in Haldimand-Norfolk was similar to Ontario (121.2 vs. 122/100,000).
• There were a total of 1148 emergency department visits, in Haldimand-Norfolk, from 2007-2016.
• Since 2011, the 10-19 year age group, followed by the 20-44, and 45- 64 year age group, had the highest rates for emergency department visits for intentional self-harm in Haldimand-Norfolk. This is similar for hospitalization rates for intentional self-harm in Haldimand-Norfolk.
• From 2007-2016, the rate of hospitalizations for intentional self-harm fluctuated in Haldimand-Norfolk (range: 44.5 – 104.3/100,000). The average rate in Haldimand-Norfolk was 74.4/100,000 compared to Ontario 60/100,000.
• There were a total of 703 hospitalizations, in Haldimand-Norfolk, from 2007-2016.
