Dec. 31, 2020 – The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit has confirmed the death of a resident due to COVID-19.

The resident had been living in the community prior to hospitalization.

In the interests of privacy, no further details about the individual can be made available at this time.

The Health Unit has also declared COVID-19 outbreaks at two local agricultural operations, with 25 positive cases of the virus among workers at one farm, and one positive case among workers at another. A public health management plan is being put in place.

A total of three long-term care facilities, one community living residence and three farms are currently experiencing outbreaks of COVID-19.
