Statement from Medical Officer of Health re: move to Orange – Restrict category
As Haldimand and Norfolk enter the Orange-Restrict category of the province’s COVID-19 response framework, Dr. Shanker Nesathurai, Haldimand-Norfolk’s Medical Officer of Health, issued the following statement:
“As the Haldimand-Norfolk area moves into the Orange – Restrict category of the province’s COVID-19 re-opening framework, I want to take the opportunity to remind community members to remain vigilant against the spread of the virus. As Medical Officer of Health, the best advice I can give is to stay at home as much as possible, wear a mask when you must go out, avoid close contact with anyone you don’t live with, and wash your hands frequently. While limited vaccination for those most at-risk has taken place in Haldimand and Norfolk, these basic public health practices continue to play a key role in our response to COVID-19. Together, we can continue to reduce the number of new COVID-19 cases in our community and save the lives of those most vulnerable to the virus.”
