Norfolk Pathways for People hosts Spring Trail Walk
Norfolk Pathways for People (P4P) is hosting a Spring Trail Walk on Saturday, May 4, at 2:00 p.m. The event will take place at the picturesque Waterford Shadow Lake Trail.
Members of the community who wish to participate can meet at the Concession 8 parking lot in Waterford. Participants can find a detailed map of the area on the Maps & Parking page of the Waterford Heritage Trails and Shadow Lake Park website.
Trail Features:
Participants will enjoy the hidden treasures of Shadow Lake Trail. Highlights of the trail include:
- Black Bridge: Traverse the iconic Black Bridge and experience the rustic charm of its wooden structure.
- Moccasin Identifier Teaching Circle: Engage with Indigenous culture and heritage at the Moccasin Identifier teaching circle, offering insights into the rich history of the land.
- Scenic Waterfront Views: Immerse in the tranquility of the waterfront views, offering picturesque vistas of the surrounding landscape.
Event Details:
This event will take place rain or shine, so attendees are encouraged to dress accordingly and prepare for the weather conditions. The walk covers approximately three kilometers of picturesque terrain, providing a perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature and enjoy the great outdoors.
Attendees are encouraged to bring water to stay hydrated and wear appropriate walking shoes. The event will proceed regardless of weather conditions, so participants are advised to dress accordingly.
Accessibility Information:
Families with strollers are welcome to join in this scenic adventure. Please note that while the three-kilometre route includes stairs, an alternative route with a slightly longer distance is available to accommodate those wishing to avoid the steps.
