Update on Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP)
The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit (HNHU) is now managing the Ontario Seniors Dental Care Program (OSDCP) through its dental clinics in Simcoe and Dunnville.
As a result of this change, all OSDCP services previously accessed from community dentists will now be provided at HNHU dental clinics. This transition ensures eligible seniors can continue receiving free, regular dental care services through the OSDCP.
OSDCP eligibility:
- Resident of Ontario
- 65+ years and above
- Meet annual income requirements ($25,000 for single seniors, $41,500 for couples)
Dental services covered under this program:
- Check-ups, including scaling, fluoride, and polishing
- Repairing broken teeth and cavities
- X-rays
- Removing teeth or abnormal tissue (oral surgery)
- Anesthesia
- Treating infection and pain (endodontic services)
- Treating gum conditions and diseases (periodontal services)
- Dentures (co-payment required)
