Flu and COVID-19 vaccines available starting October 27, RSV eligibility expanded to all adults 75 and over

Starting Monday, October 27, influenza and COVID-19 vaccines will be available at participating local pharmacies and through healthcare providers for everyone six months of age and older. RSV vaccines will also be available through healthcare providers for adults 75 years and older, and high-risk individuals ages 60 to 74.
If it has been six months since your last COVID-19 vaccination or infection, an additional dose is recommended to help protect against new strains expected to circulate this fall and winter.
Influenza, COVID-19, and RSV are contagious respiratory illnesses that are more serious than the common cold. These viruses can cause severe health complications, especially in high-risk populations including young children, pregnant individuals, and older adults.
Here are some ways to protect yourself and your family during this respiratory season:
  • Stay up to date with immunizations for flu, COVID-19, and RSV.
  • Stay home when you are sick and keep children home if they are ill.
  • Wear a mask that fits comfortably over your nose and mouth if you are feeling ill or are around others who may be ill.
  • Wash your hands often and avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze.
  • Disinfect high-touch surfaces in your home and workplace.
Vaccination remains safe, effective, and the best defense against the flu, COVID-19, and RSV. Both influenza and COVID-19 vaccines can be administered at the same appointment, making it easier to stay protected. For RSV eligibility, contact your healthcare provider.
Pharmacies offering COVID-19, RSV and flu vaccines can be found at Ontario.ca/vaccine-locations.
Residents can stay informed on respiratory activity in the Grand Erie region by visiting GEPH’s Seasonal Respiratory Dashboard for the 2025-26 season.
