Board of Health approves HNHU’s 2024-27 Strategic Plan

The Haldimand and Norfolk Board of Health has approved the 2024-27 Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit (HNHU) Strategic Plan.

The document guides staff as they strive to meet the public health needs of the community while responding to changes in the public health system. It also communicates priorities with partners and the communities the Health Unit serves.

The plan focuses on four priority areas – each with specific goals and objectives over the next four years. The noted priorities in the plan include health equity, community and sector relationships, workforce well-being and resilience, and change management.

Priorities were identified jointly with people in roles across the Health Unit. Input from partner organizations and local elected officials, along with the results of HNHU’s 2022 Community Needs Assessment, were also used to shape the four-year plan.

Current and future Health Unit initiatives and programs will be designed to align with these priorities, and the Strategic Plan will also be integrated into the budget process, departmental plans, and staff goals.
