Book a COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment
As of June 2024, HNHU has ceased its Community COVID-19 vaccine clinics.
Starting October 28, all members of the public over six months of age can receive free COVID-19 and flu vaccines from local pharmacies and healthcare providers.
Vaccines are available now for
- Adults 65 years of age and older
- Residents of long-term care homes and congregate living settings
- Pregnant women
- Infants and children from 6 months to 5 years of age
- Those who have immunocompromising or other underlying medical conditions.
- Health care workers and first responders
- Poultry workers (or those with significant exposure to birds and mammals)
- Individuals from the First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities
- Those who are members of racialized and other equity-deserving communities
FAQs
Previously vaccinated individuals may consider delaying COVID-19 immunization by 3 to 6 months, from the time that they tested positive for COVID-19.
- Ontario has two mRNA COVID-19 vaccines available for the 2024/2025 season, Moderna and Pfizer, both targeting the Omicron KP.2 variant.
- Novavax will not be available in Ontario for the 2024/2025 season. Individuals who are unable to receive an mRNA vaccine, should speak with their health care provider about treatment options, including the use of Paxlovid, to reduce the duration and severity of illness.
The COVID-19 vaccines may be given at the same time with other vaccines, or at any time before or after other non-COVID-19 vaccines (live or non-live vaccines), including influenza vaccine, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine and/or the RSV monoclonal antibody, Beyfortus.
