Community Vaccine Update
- Vaccine doses administered so far: 157,990 doses
- Number of people completely vaccinated: 65,193
- Proportion of local population 5+ population with at least 1 dose: 79.6%
- Proportion of local population 5+ population fully vaccinated: 75.5%
*please note, statistics are now including rates for 5-11 year-olds.
- To date, 157,990 doses have been administered by the HNHU and our local clinic partners, including 1,711 doses for children 5-11.
- Including our partners in the pharmacies, 2,050 children ages 5-11 have been vaccinated locally, for a coverage rate of 22.9%.
- In HNHU the population 5 years and older is now 75.5% fully vaccinated and 79.5% at least partially vaccinated.
- As of today, Monday, December 13, residents 50 years and over are eligible for booster doses, 6 months after their second dose. These doses, like all HNHU doses, can be booked at www.hnhu.org/popup after that date. Spaces are limited so if no appointment is available at a time or location convenient to you, please see the list here for pharmacy locations offering vaccine appointments.
- As of January 4, adults 18 and over will be eligible for booster doses, 6 months after their second dose. Bookings will be available at www.hnhu.org/popup when appointments are made available. Residents are encouraged to book with pharmacies if appointments are not available.
- While walk-in appointments are available for first and second doses for those 12+, a reminder that all third doses require an appointment at this time. The GO-VAXX bus takes only walk-ins for all dose numbers.
- Children, youth, and adults are encouraged to book their second doses at 8 weeks after their first doses, if not already fully vaccinated. The 8-week interval is important as the research demonstrates how immune response is stronger with a second dose at or after 8 weeks.
- A new partnership with HNHSS Homelessness Prevention will seek to provide supports for vaccine booking to those who are precariously housed, under-housed, or experiencing homelessness. These clients will be supported in connecting with the COVID-19 Vaccine Hotline to assist in booking appointments and with transportation to clinics.
