Community Vaccine Update: November 1, 2021

Vaccine doses administered so far: 145,549 doses

Number of people completely vaccinated: > 64,430

Proportion of local population 12+ population with at least 1 dose: 87.0%

Proportion of local population 12+ population fully vaccinated: 83.5%

 

Status updates:

  • The Health Unit and its partners have now administered 145,549 doses of vaccine. Therefore, 83.5% of the population over the age of 12 years are now fully vaccinated – and 87.0% have received at least one dose.
  • Youth aged 12 to 17 are 67.3% vaccinated with at least one dose administered.
  • The NACI (Federal Table making recommendations for COVID-19 vaccine policies) issued their statement on Friday. We are awaiting official guidance from the Ontario Ministry of Health and anticipate that guidance will come this week. The HNHU will not be proceeding with expanding any eligibility for third doses until the provincial guidance is received.
  • In preparation for the potential expansion of third doses, the HNHU is preparing for a short-term Mass Immunizations Clinic at Riverside Exhibition Centre in Caledonia. Clinics will be added to the www.hnhu.org/popup site as they come available.
  • Appointments will be required for third doses. Walk-ins will continue to be accepted for first and second doses.
  • The HNHU is excited to host the GO-VAXX Bus in Langton on November 3, Simcoe on November 4, in Canborough on November 13, and on other dates throughout the month of November.
  • Individuals who are unable to access a vaccine due to barriers such as transportation, identification, or accessibility should call 519-427-5903 or email [email protected] for assistance.
  • Those seeking their vaccine receipts are reminded they can access them online at covid-19.ontario.ca/proof-covid-19-vaccination and now include the enhanced receipt with QR code.
