COVID-19 and flu shots will be available in late October
Starting October 28, free COVID-19 and flu vaccines will be available from local pharmacies and health care providers, for all members of the public over six months of age.
High-risk populations are eligible and encouraged to receive their COVID-19 and flu vaccines as soon as possible. High-risk populations include:
- Adults 65 years of age and older
- Residents of long-term care homes and congregate living settings
- Pregnant women
- Infants and children from 6 months to 5 years of age
- Those who have immunocompromising or other underlying medical conditions.
- Health care workers and first responders
- Poultry workers (or those with significant exposure to birds and mammals)
- Individuals from the First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities
- Those who are members of racialized and other equity-deserving communities
The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit will be offering COVID-19 and flu vaccines to children five years of age and under. Appointments can be booked at hnhu.org/immunize.
Adults and parents or guardians of children five years of age and older are encouraged to book an appointment to receive their COVID-19 and flu vaccines through local pharmacies or health care providers. Pharmacies offering COVID-19, and flu vaccines can be found at Ontario.ca/vaccine-locations.
