Grand Erie Public Health Advises of New Measles Exposure Locations
Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH) is advising community members of new measles exposure location in our region. Exposures to the measles virus may have occurred at the following location, date, time as indicated:
-
Brantford General Hospital Labour and Delivery, 200 Terrace Hill St., Brantford, on June 3, 2025, from 7:30 p.m. to 11:06 p.m.
Anyone born in or after 1970 who has not had a previous measles infection and who has not received two doses of a measles-containing vaccine is at risk of infection if exposed to the measles virus.
Within 72 hours of exposure, administration of the MMR vaccine may reduce the risk of infection. Within 6 days of exposure, susceptible individuals at higher risk (including infants, pregnant individuals, and immunocompromised individuals) may be eligible to receive immunoglobulin which may prevent or reduce the severity of infection.
If you were present at the above location at the identified time or you have been exposed to measles elsewhere in the community, please complete our measles exposure form at www.geph.ca/measlesform. The form will collect information to complete a risk assessment and provide appropriate guidance on next steps to reduce the chance of infection where possible and limit further spread of the virus.
