Grand Erie Public Health Confirms Two Additional Cases of Measles

Grand Erie Public Health (GEPH) is investigating two confirmed cases of measles in Norfolk County. There are currently 21 confirmed cases (five adults and 16 children) in the Grand Erie region, which includes Haldimand County, Norfolk County, Brantford, and County of Brant.

All confirmed cases are currently recovering at home. The infection source of the two new confirmed cases is linked to a previous exposure. GEPH is investigating and following up with known contacts who may have been exposed to the measles virus through these individuals.

At this time, the investigation has determined that those at the following locations may have been exposed to the measles virus:

  • Family Practice Office, Roulston’s Pharmacy, 65 Donly Dr. N Suite B Unit 4, Jan. 28, 2025, from 5 to 7:20 p.m.
  • Shoppers Drug Mart, 470 Norfolk St., Simcoe, Jan 30, 2025, from 10 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
  • Best Western Hotel, 17565 Yonge St, Newmarket, Jan 31, 2025, at 2 p.m. to Feb 1, 2025, at 11:30 a.m.
  • Magna Centre Arena, 800 Mulock Dr., Newmarket on January 31, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
