Haldimand-Norfolk continuing with vaccinations for members of Phase One priority groups only

Haldimand & Norfolk counties are currently in the process of vaccinating residents in Phase 1 priority groups as per the Province’s rollout framework. At this time, vaccine appointments are only being offered to individuals 80 years of age or older and high-risk healthcare workers. Residents outside of these groups are being asked to remain patient and await further information regarding vaccine availability.

Making an appointment – residents 80+ years old and high-risk healthcare workers

  • Anyone 80 years of age or older, as well as any high-risk healthcare workers, who do not have a family physician in Haldimand or Norfolk or who do not have a family physician at all to call or email the vaccination team to make an appointment for a vaccination.
  • Residents in these Phase 1 groups may call 519-427-5903 or e-mail [email protected] to set up an appointment.

High-risk healthcare workers, as defined by the Province, include all hospital and acute care staff in frontline roles with COVID-19 patients and/or with a high-risk of exposure to COVID-19, patient-facing health care workers involved in COVID-19 response, first responders and community healthcare workers serving specialized populations.

The full list can be found here.

Once vaccinations for all Phase 1 populations have been administered, the rollout will shift to Phase 2. Phase 2 priority group bookings will be coordinated through family physicians as they were with Phase 1 (residents will be asked to wait for their call). Further information about health conditions specific to Phase 2 will also be addressed through family physicians.

Information about vaccine rollout in Haldimand & Norfolk counties will continue to be shared frequently as details become available. Residents are asked to watch for updates and refrain from calling family doctors, local hospitals or the Health Unit regarding vaccination appointments unless they are specifically requested to do so.

The Haldimand-Norfolk COVID-19 Task Force will continue working diligently until all residents have had the opportunity to receive a vaccine.
