Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit reports 27 COVID-19 cases
April 1, 2020, Simcoe, ON – The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit is reporting that there are a total of 27 individuals in Haldimand and Norfolk who have tested positive for COVID-19.
There are 11 positive tests related to residents of Anson Place, which is both a long-term care facility and retirement home. Three of these residents have died. At this time, the Health Unit can confirm that two of the deaths have been attributed to COVID-19.
The facility, working with the Health Unit, has instituted measures to decrease the spread of COVID-19.
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Shanker Nesathurai stated, “I am always saddened by a loss of life, and I extended my condolences to the families.”
