Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit updating reporting in accordance with new guidance
The Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit (HNHU) is making several updates to the way COVID-19 information is reported to the public.
In light of the reporting changes outlined previously, the HNHU will no longer be presenting the number of new or active cases reported on the Additional Daily Statistics COVID-19 webpage each day. Instead, the HNHU will follow the lead of the province and other local health units to report local hospital and intensive care unit hospitalizations. Additional website changes will include reporting outbreaks in fewer settings based on available data.
These changes to reporting are necessary due to decreased availability of testing for the general population. The HNHU is committed to keeping the community informed with accurate and transparent information.
In addition, effective immediately, media releases will no longer be issued for each resident who has died from or with COVID-19. These updates will continue to be available on the website.
The Additional Daily Statistics webpage will be updated Monday to Friday before 10:00 a.m.
