Health and Social Services employee tests positive for COVID-19
May 20, 2020, Simcoe, ON – A Health and Social Services employee working at the Gilbertson Administration Building in Simcoe – closed to the public since March 17 – has tested positive for COVID-19.
The employee is self-isolating at home, and Health Unit staff have asked close contacts to self-isolate at home pending their own test results.
Those who have had more limited contact with the employee have been asked to self-monitor for symptoms.
The employee’s workspace, as well as surrounding workspaces, washrooms and eating areas have undergone a deep clean. Regular cleaning and disinfecting continues to occur twice per day.
All staff in the building continue to practice social distancing by remaining at least 2 metres from each other at all times and limiting in-person meetings.
