Food Safety
Food for human consumption is expected to be clean, wholesome and sanitary. The purpose of this program is to continuously monitor the community for levels of safety and sanitation in food products available to the public. This is accomplished through the administration and enforcement of the Health Protection and Promotion Act and the Food Premises Regulation. The Public Health Inspector advances this purpose by performing routine inspections of food premises. They are also engaged in the investigation of food complaints and food safety education.
