Intentional Self-Harm – Statistics in Haldimand-Norfolk
- From 2007-2016, the rate of emergency department visits for intentional self-harm fluctuated in Haldimand-Norfolk (range: 76.3 – 160.5/100,000). The average rate in Haldimand-Norfolk was similar to Ontario (121.2 vs. 122/100,000).
- There were a total of 1148 emergency department visits, in Haldimand-Norfolk, from 2007-2016.
- Since 2011, the 10-19 year age group, followed by the 20-44, and 45- 64 year age group, had the highest rates for emergency department visits for intentional self-harm in Haldimand-Norfolk. This is similar for hospitalization rates for intentional self-harm in Haldimand-Norfolk.
