Hearing screenings help identify babies who may be at risk for hearing loss. They are provided for babies under the age of 2 months and are free of charge.
If your baby was discharged from the hospital on the weekend or received a “refer” result and needs a follow-up screen, you can register for your baby’s infant hearing screen by phoning 1-866-826-4327 ext. 221 or booking an appointment online.
Central South Infant Hearing Program Infant Hearing Clinics are held in Dunnville, Hagersville, and Simcoe.
To prepare for your appointment:
- Avoid lotion on your baby’s head on the day of the screen
- Feed your baby just before the appointment
- Bring your baby sleeping or resting quietly in a car seat
- Bring a blanket and other items to calm your baby
- Bring extra diapers and clothes.
