Health Unit declares COVID-19 outbreak at Parkview Meadows affecting facility staff
April 24, 2020, Simcoe, ON – Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit staff have declared an outbreak of COVID-19 at Parkview Meadows long-term care facility in Townsend.
As of April 24, two staff members have tested positive for the disease. These staff members are not working at the facility and are currently in self-isolation at home.
All residents have been tested and results have come back negative. There are no residents who are currently sick with COVID-19. Residents are currently being self-isolated in their rooms, where they are also receiving all meals. Staff are wearing full personal protective equipment.
Health Unit staff have initiated a full public health management plan and are reaching out to all close contacts of the positive cases.
