Health Unit launches youth vaping prevention campaign

Oct. 24, 2019 – The Haldimand Norfolk Health Unit, in collaboration with 16 public health units, is launching a youth vaping prevention campaign called “Use Your Instincts”. The campaign highlights the harms of vaping with unique visuals and messages urging youth to “use their instincts” and trust facts when deciding whether to vape or not.

Health Unit staff are launching the campaign on Monday, October 28th at Holy Trinity Catholic High School. The campaign will be set-up at lunchtime (11:35 a.m.) for students to participate in demonstrations about vapour vs. aerosols, answer trivia questions and engage on social media.

Public Health Nurses and Health Promoters will be attending every high school in Haldimand and Norfolk in the next month to bring the message to all students.

The campaign website www.unfilteredfacts.ca/vaping will also be launched next week.
