Norfolk Pathways for People hosting Fall Walk

Norfolk Pathways for People (P4P) invites community members to join its Fall Walk at Oakwood Cemetery in Simcoe on Saturday, November 16, at 2:00 p.m.

Participants are asked to meet at 196 Victoria Street, Simcoe. The walk will proceed rain or shine, so attendees should dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. The walk will cover approximately two kilometers and provide an opportunity to learn about the rich history of the area. Attendees interested in extending their adventure are encouraged to explore nearby trails, including the Lynn Valley Trail and Brook Conservation Trail, both accessible from the cemetery.

Norfolk Pathways for People is a community coalition advocating for the development and improvement of connected trails and pathways in Norfolk County. The group promotes the regular use of trails, sidewalks, and roadways for health, recreation, and active transportation. Established in 2008, P4P hosts two trail events annually to showcase Norfolk’s natural and historical treasures.

“P4P received positive feedback from our spring trail walk, particularly for the historical stops and discussions. We’re excited to continue this tradition at Oakwood Cemetery, where attendees can learn about fascinating figures like Abigail Becker, famously known as the ‘Angel of Long Point.’ These walks are a wonderful way to combine education, community, and the beauty of Norfolk’s trails.”
