Province Expands Eligibility for Fourth Shot Booster
Beginning today individuals aged 18 – 59 are eligible for a second booster dose. This change will expand on the already eligible 60-plus age group. Individuals within these age groups, who are at a higher risk of severe disease, are encouraged to stay up-to-date with all eligible COVID-19 vaccinations.
Staying up-to-date with your COVID-19 vaccination, including any booster dose(s) when eligible, offers the best protection against getting severely ill from COVID-19.
Those now eligible can receive a fourth dose provided five months (minimum 3 months) have passed from their last shot and their last COVID-19 infection was at least three months ago.
In response to the increased eligibility, the Haldimand-Norfolk Health Unit has scheduled additional clinics to support the needs of the community. You may also check with your health care provider and local pharmacies as many are continuing to offer the COVID-19 vaccine.
